The Structured Finance Hackathon

The structured finance community has convened in Barcelona for almost 3 decades to network with industry peers and engage in high-stakes deals. However, amidst the hustle and bustle, one crucial group is still to be welcomed: technology and data professionals.

In an era where data and AI are revolutionizing industries worldwide, the structured finance sector should be no exception. With intention to spur innovation in a more complex financial market, we are thrilled to present the inaugural Structured Finance Hackathon!

Whether you’re a coder or a financial professional, if you’re interested in applying emerging technologies to structured financing challenges, join us on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024 at 10:00 AM in Barcelona (or Online) to network, collaborate, and learn.

About the Hackathon The Structured Finance Hackathon is designed to bridge the gap between the financial and technology worlds. It provides a unique space where developers, data scientists, and AI specialists can interact with quants, portfolio managers, and risk analysts.

The event’s competitive flavour also encourages innovators to solve real-world challenges in an environment with few constraints to creativity.

Teams will start collaborating online from May 16th until demo day on June 5th, where they will showcase their ideas to the jury either online or on-site.

The Challenge

Over the course of the day, teams will collaborate to tackle real-world challenges facing the structured finance industry.

LegalTech➡️ How can we turn Structured Finance documentation into transparent code, quick and error-free?

Climate Risk Tech➡️ How can we use a variety of data sources to empower portfolio managers with compliant ESG and Climate Risk Scenario Analytics?

RegTech ➡️ How can we make Regulatory Obligations easier to understand while efficiently monitoring changes to existing requirements?

Participants will get access to a sandbox environment equipped with synthetic data, content and cloud credits, and will be able to tackle different topics such as:

• prospectus abstraction;

• smart contracts, tokenisation;

• data modelling (deal, bond and loan-level data);

• architectures, LLMs, UX/UI, hosting and security topics.
